The cat’s out of the bag, Shane and Desiree are married! When I say it was more than an honor to capture their big day, I mean it. Desiree and Shane both work full time in the industry and honestly came to the realization that a big wedding just wasn’t them. Instead, they opted for an intimate elopement in the mountains. Des and Shane are some of the most intentional people I know, and welcomed their photographers/videographers into the Airbnb on their wedding day with gift baskets and homemade breakfast.
The morning was serene, it was spent with them getting ready together, worshipping, and having their daily Bible Study. Their wedding day was truly crafted to reflect them and the things that they value, and pouring their thanks to the Lord for bringing them together.
After the morning came to a close, Des and Shane had a first look outside of their cozy Airbnb and exchanged vows. Throughout the exchange you could feel the love they had for each other and how the words poured from the depths of their heart. God showed Himself in so many ways on their wedding day. I will never forget Des uttering the last sentence of her vows, closing the book, and sun immediately illuminating the space.
The elopement location overlooked mountains for miles. Immediate family members attended utilizing the rocks on site as chairs, and they were married by their pastor who drove in for the ceremony.
After the ceremony, the guests departed to Shane’s parents Airbnb to kick off the celebration! We hung back at the site a little longer and witnessed the Johnson’s first dance.
Shane’s sister is a very talented pastry chef and made the cake of their dreams for them to dig in!
That night the newly weds joined family in celebrating their union and enjoyed a ‘mini-moon’ in the moutains the days following!
